Fusion techniques may include anterior transabdominal approach for interbody fusion, as well as posterior approaches for lumbar interbody or intertransverse fusion. Will my surgeon recommend surgery?
Most conditions are treated without surgery. The physicians at Integrated Spine Care consider every conservative option available before surgery is suggested. When patients have tried conservative treatments without success, surgery maybe indicated.  It is often then that our patients choose a surgical alternative.

What non-surgical treatments are available?
Non-surgical treatment options are extensive. Treatment may include medications utilizing muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory or pain medications. Treatment may also include physical therapy chiropractic care, pain management specialists or acupuncture. The treatment option selected for you will depend on your condition and your response to other treatments. Your Integrated Spine Care physician will fully discuss your alternatives.
